Price Challenge: The Best Of Me, by Nicholas Sparks

Continuing to sit in the calm and discreet space of the books, I have selected another book for the sabsecheapest review today.

Books brings so much comfort to the human being, and the person drifts away from all the complications and concerns which have become a part of today’s human life. There were times when I used to sit for hours at a lunch or after dinner reading a book and never used to worry about the time and was so engrossed that hours went by without even thinking of anything else except the characters in the novel. A good book or a novel; has the ability to take a person away to a different world where he is the not the main protagonist, where thinks happen to someone else and revolves around a different person for a change, where you get to be the GOD who sees everything getting unfolded but still making you feel the pain, the happiness, the laughter and the sadness in the emotions of these someone else.

The book I have picked up today is from a very well known author Nicholas Sparks.

About the Book:

In the fall of 1984, high school students Amanda Collier and Dawson Cole fell deeply, irrevocably in love. Though they were from opposite sides of the tracks, their love for one another seemed to defy the realities of life in the small town of Oriental, North Carolina.

But as the summer of their senior year came to a close, unforeseen events would tear the young couple apart, setting them on radically divergent paths. Now, twenty-five years later, Amanda and Dawson are summoned back to Oriental for a funeral. Neither has lived the life they imagined . . . and neither can forget the passionate first love that forever changed their lives.

Forced to confront painful memories, the two former lovers soon realize that everything they thought they knew-about themselves and the dreams they held dear-was not as it seemed. And in the course of a single, searing weekend, they will ask of the living, and the dead: Can love truly rewrite the past?

The new epic love story from the multi-million-copy bestselling author of the Notebook and The Last Song. Nicholas Sparks is one of the world's most beloved authors.

Now as usual, we get down to our task finding out the Sabsecheapest price of this book and where can you find it online.

Price Challenge: The Help, by Kathryn Stockett

Hello friends.

While going through my blogs about the Sabsecheapest price, I realized that much of the last blogs have focused on the latest smart phones and gadgets and were completely techy oriented.
So I thought that today I will deviate from that techy environment of ours and may be drift towards a much sober and relaxed space of the BOOKS.

I remember, some days back I came across a book which, though I didn’t read, but caught my attention. I wrote down the name somewhere and though that may be in coming days I will definitely come back to this one and search more stuff around.
The name of the book was THE HELP, by Kathryn Stockett.
Now if you guys don’t know the author Kathryn Stockett, then definitely it’s not your mistake as this was her debut book.

One fascinating fact about this book is, that this book was rejected by 60 literary agents and when it got finally published it sold five million copies and has spent more than 100 weeks on the The New York Times Best Seller list.

About the Book:

It’s a story of three ordinary women who are about to take one extraordinary step.

First character, Twenty-two-year-old Skeeter has just returned home after graduating from Ole Miss. She may have a degree, but it is 1962, Mississippi, and her mother will not be happy till Skeeter has a ring on her finger. Skeeter would normally find solace with her beloved maid Constantine, the woman who raised her, but Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell Skeeter where she has gone.

The second lady, Aibileen is a black maid, a wise, regal woman raising her seventeenth white child. Something has shifted inside her after the loss of her own son, who died while his bosses looked the other way. She is devoted to the little girl she looks after, though she knows both their hearts may be broken.

Third and the last character, Minny, Aibileen’s best friend, is short, fat, and perhaps the sassiest woman in Mississippi. She can cook like nobody’s business, but she can’t mind her tongue, so she’s lost yet another job. Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.

Seemingly as different from one another as can be, these women will nonetheless come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don’t.

Now we get down to the business of finding out the Sabsecheapest price of this book and where can you find it online.

Price Challenge : The Goal - A Process of Ongoing Improvement

This is one book which i hated the most when i got it as my Birthday present. Reason- I am not fond of reading management books and kept this book aside for nearly 2 years.

But when I read it, I found hard to imagine a management book in novel form ever approaching this one in usefulness. Most people will learn more that they can apply from this book about management than many people learn to apply from an M.B.A.( i believe so!!!)

In "The Goal," Eliyahu Goldratt has written what has to be one of the most-read business books in existence.

In its simplest form, The Goal is about making effective and informed decisions. The author takes the readers on a very thorough, step-by-step discovery of the many fallacies and misconceptions invading much of the way today's society views and measures the production process.

So grab a copy of book for yourself today

Written in a fast-paced thriller style, The Goal, a gripping novel, is transforming management thinking throughout the world. It is a book to recommend to your friends in industry - even to your bosses - but not to your competitors.

Alex Rogo is a harried plant manager working ever more desperately to try improve performance. His factory is rapidly heading for disaster. So is his marriage. He has ninety days to save his plant - or it will be closed by corporate HQ, with hundreds of job losses. It takes a chance meeting with a professor from student days - Jonah - to help him break out of conventional ways of thinking to see what needs to be done.

The story of Alex's fight to save his plant is more than compulsive reading. It contains a serious message for all managers in industry and explains the ideas, which underline the Theory of Constraints (TOC), developed by Eli Goldratt.

MRP: Rs 450

The book is available on almost all leading websites, but here i am listing the wesbites where it is cheapest.
